The Beatles The White Album

I disagree with the statement that they could have developed a triple album; rather, by sifting through the material, we would have had yet another masterpiece from the four from Liverpool. However, I agree that the White Album reflects the awakening atmosphere of the end of the decade (the colors of Flower Power give way to a completely white cover, even the band's name is only embossed); not having too much mediation makes it more intimate. In reality, the genesis speaks to us of a collection of almost solo material, rarely do all four come together in the same piece, and they are never all in the studio at the same time. Milestone!

Great review! I think it captured the essence of the album while also highlighting the merits (and flaws) of the songs.
I would just like to add that the version of Please included in the album doesn't do justice to the piece: the single version is better.
Personally, it's an album I love.

Dude, look that the Beatles kicked off their psychedelic season before SGT Pepper, that is with Revolver, the turning point between the Beatles everyone has in mind (the Pop ones) and a more mature phase. And then, psychedelia isn’t just about eight-minute songs with weird sounds. Psychedelia is also Penny Lane, its sound layering, its timeless images.

The Pink Floyd did not give birth to the psychedelic genre. Let's say they developed it and brought it to its peak. The BEATLES gave birth to psychedelia.

This is a review! Emotions, not fan club news!
I'm rushing to buy the Suite.

Great review, fantastic album. You’ve uncovered gems that a cursory glance might miss. It’s worth adding that the album was released shortly after the first to take advantage of the group’s commercial momentum; there wasn’t a clear sense of their potential and it was Parlophone calling the shots. Later on, the roles would sharply reverse regarding what and when to release, sometimes with immense results (Sgt. Pepper) and other times less so (White Album).

... but let's not mix Fitter Happier with the Beatles... Revolution 9 is unattainable, just like the Beatles themselves, after all.

Monumental album, a must-have.
It contains a dark, Mittel-European portrait of a century coming to an end; but it also holds the premonition of September 11th.
