Among other things, I spoke from a compositional and talent perspective regarding Yorke. When I mentioned emotions, I was referring to myself; I certainly can’t expect to reason with the emotions of others, heaven forbid. I meant to say that Yorke's talent is all there in this album. You talk about déjà entendu: maybe so, but I believe that seeking originality is always a mistake. Who is original today?

"I don't care about emotions" and "some songs give me emotions but for my own reasons." These are two statements SLIGHTLY contradictory. It's obvious that things evoke emotions for each person for their own reasons... For Sickman: emotions aren't necessarily positive, you know...

I would try to eliminate Radiohead from the discussion. Of course, the comparison is unavoidable, but honestly, I feel them very little in this... This is a damn personal album, and I agree that it isn't original (but why does everything have to be original? It's easy to say...) but it’s a "heavy" album that definitely does not go unnoticed. No chills? When those three piano notes come in towards the end of "Harrowdown Hill," I regularly get goosebumps. Let's carefully analyze the compositional aspect: most of the pieces hinge on two chords, or maybe a bit more. The rest is done by Thom Yorke and the electronics. I believe that to write songs with two chords (or even just one) and make people feel chills, you need to be a genius. Lou Reed, R.E.M. come to mind right now, who do it wonderfully. That’s why I say that the choice not to effect the voice is significant because underneath this electronics (which, in my opinion, is beautiful, even if I agree that it clearly has a Warp taste but that was obvious from "Kid A") lies a fascinating simplicity that, in my opinion, is characteristic of great talents, which York undoubtedly is.

"And it rained all night" is similar to "The gloaming" because it takes samples from there. This is stated explicitly.

Nah, I don't agree with that. Morrissey, even though his solo career hasn't always been up to par, is someone who has always produced and has always had great class. Marr disappeared after the Smiths. Fortunately, given the results... Besides, I believe that if in the Smiths, Morrissey was at least 70%...

Yeah, well. But Johnny Marr is now playing at being a young Brit-pop kid with terrible results, Morrissey is still a true gentleman... In the end, if you think about it, Marr was just a great guitarist, Morrissey a real songwriting talent... And thanks for the beer... ;)

Yes, in fact I said I wasn't sure. But how many times has he come to Italy? You can count them on one hand, which means my metaphor wasn't so wrong after all. I'm sure about the Smiths, they never came to perform for us...

DI+UNA or DELLA is the same thing; it’s the same complement, only the article changes: in the first case, it's indefinite, while in the second it’s definite. It’s not an error at all, let alone a repetition. Furthermore, if you really want to be picky, I haven’t repeated anything since I wrote "di una" and "di un". If it sounds off to you, I don’t know what to say, but it’s Italian, I'm sorry. You explained yourself very well, but I find the nitpicking unjustified. Especially coming from someone who elsewhere claims to be ignorant and says they got a 4 in Italian. With all due respect, of course. Also, I believe my review contains much bigger errors if you go looking for them. I'm not exactly a polished speaker myself... ;) And anyway, as always, we start talking about everything except music...

No, I didn’t misspeak, I wrote it deliberately. The death of a pope is something that happens rarely (not by chance is it said "a ogni morte di papa" every time one wants to imply that something occurs infrequently), Morrissey came to Italy with the Smiths only once in 1984, in Sanremo to sing ONE song ("Ask," to be precise) and then, as a solo artist, he only recently appeared with the tour of "You are the quarry" (if I'm not mistaken). Obviously, my statement was a euphemism to emphasize how inconsistent it is that someone who professes love for our country left and right has actually come here very rarely.

Birreria di Lambrate. Three types: a blonde, a red, and a double malt blonde. All three are excellent. ;)
