Anyway, I already knew IMMORTAL, EMPEROR, DARKTHRONE, and MAYHEM.

I fully support you, but no one beats the dear Vekki Cradle!!! The bands you mentioned are indeed historic, but the Cradle are infinite. Everyone has their own tastes (and by the way, the Cradle are six)!!! Anyway, thanks for mentioning some bands I know, so I'm off to buy the CDs.
