Mazzy Star So Tonight That I Might See

I really don’t know what to say... I’m at a loss for words, just like when I first listened to this masterpiece. And it was night when I did: what a beautiful dive into the past! Since I can’t find suitable adjectives... I’ll let the rating speak for itself!

I would be tempted to give a rating to the album as well... the review is so beautiful... out of trust. I was lucky enough to listen to the subsequent The Saga of Mayflower May... which I recommend if you don't have it. And I recommend it to anyone who loves the soft and twilight atmospheres of a Nick Drake and the crystal clear voice of Joan Baez, which seems to be another good point of comparison for this unknown girl.

So many memories... it’s been a while since I listened to this album. When in The last time I saw Richard Joni lets herself go with that heart-wrenching high note ("Only a dark coccon before you spread your gorgeous wings and fly away") and then descends to the lower notes, I get goosebumps. You made me want to listen to it again. Thank you!

Honestly, I didn’t like the album at all, especially recalling the good experiments of Asile's world. It was clear from the beginning that Elisa is not an innovative artist and that she won’t make music history, but she could have avoided ruining two masterpieces like Hallelujah and Femme Fatale. Her version of the Velvet Underground and Nico piece is truly indecent, worthy of condemnation. The rest of the album is sometimes decent, but more often mediocre. Essential and well-written review... of course, I don’t agree with the rating.
