I haven't listened to the album... I refused to buy it. However, the review is excellent. I have one doubt about the sentence "Phair takes pleasure in showing herself for what she really is." I honestly don't believe this is the real Liz Phair... or at least I hope not. What little I've listened to was indecent.

Hi festwca! I’m not familiar with the album at all, but loving shoegaze, I'll do everything I can to get it... from your description, it sounds really interesting, a great blend of new and old, innovation and tradition. Absolutely awesome. See you soon!

Duplicate or not, I find it stunning. Truly touching, sharp, and at the same time clear-headed. Well done. I agree with your judgment on "Fly": I really believe it's one of the most beautiful songs ever written. Congratulations. BYE!

sorry undying... this is my last post. Joe, clearly you read "anal" and are scandalized. The anal phase is a stage we all go through, and there's nothing wrong with it. It was a metaphor to emphasize your immaturity and your pleasure in dishing out words upon words of offense, perhaps happy to read them back in your little room. It’s certainly not an offense, no worse than calling someone old, boring, ZERO. That said, I don't want to dwell on the subject. On the album, I’ll say that in my opinion it is one of the highest and most poetic contributions that an artist has ever offered to female songwriting in recent times. And it is certainly superior to the clumsy To Venus and back. sorry undying, but it was necessary.
