"Then music does not express conceptions or ideas"... well done, keep going... so tell me, what is the purpose of music?........

x nick: I'm 20 years old... as for Latin authors, Seneca is the best for me too... but also Lucan, Persius, Sallust... even Petronius has his own decent charm... I don't know who this Bevilacqua is, even though it seems strange since we all know each other... more or less... anyway, Lamezia isn't a small town... it's the third largest city in Calabria by size and population...

Why? Is it forbidden to listen to punk and hip-hop??... I also listen to other genres, but which one do you recommend for my hypothetical career?... I want to emphasize that I’m not interested in expressing concepts through musical instruments... I don’t aspire to become the next Jimi Hendrix... I don’t care... Marco, I think you’re a bit limited musically... Listening to punk and hip-hop doesn’t mean just listening to Green Day and Mondo Marcio... My God, it doesn’t seem to me that I’m saying anything out of this world... I believe my ideas are ontologically possible... You’re limited mentally too; I don’t understand why a person with a degree in literature can’t express opinions on Greek culture... As for the rest, I really have nothing to say... I am not a guitarist...

bevilacqua who?? excuse my ignorance.. I don't know who this person is... generally, I prefer Latin.. I'm very impressed by the political conception, the civic sense of this civilization... well, the Greeks are a whole other story.. they invented philosophy, tragedy... incredible.. my Italian teacher used to say that the Greeks said everything that could be said at any level...

not even Euripides is joking... I study in Cosenza... a no-comment city, but I'm from Lamezia Terme...

It may be a personal bias... being an aspiring music journalist and studying classical literature, let’s say I’ve combined the two things... I don’t dismiss the technique 'in toto', I simply mean that as far as my way of conceiving music goes, technique isn’t that relevant and especially doesn’t need to be as exaggerated as in the case of Dream Theater... I’ll tell you that I also listen to a lot of rap music where the instrumental level is almost (and I emphasize 'almost') zeroed out, all in virtue of the priority given to the concept... but my favorite band is Hole, who honestly play terribly... they’re not the best, but in terms of depth and sensitivity, they’re the best... for me...

"It allows the musician to express their emotions and their nature through the instrument"...... you can explain that to me later... anyway, I can tell you that after four years of playing guitar, no one has ever cursed me for not using bending, etc... you do what you want, I use the guitar like a grater and that works perfectly for me... I'm certainly not aspiring to be a great guitarist... for me, what matters are the concepts, the ideas, not these little tricks with the guitar... everyone is free as you said, so I have nothing to say against your materialistic conception of music... as I have already written, maybe I am the one who's wrong because music is also technique, manual art... but for me, art must first and foremost be expression and communication, and music, as an art form, must fulfill the task, along with other arts, of expressing concepts and ideas, obviously framed in a historical and cultural context...

Fuck... another intellectual-musicologist... I used to play in a band and they never booed me because I didn’t use bending... to me, music is something else... see above...

I use it but not especially... imagine in punk how bending can be useful...

robè..I get pissed off too when they touch Kurt Cobain..but you also have to accept the existence of opinions different from yours...maybe differences in sensitivity, if we put it in these terms..
