Yes, dantecruciani, but they left the Indie tag of origin, which ultimately is not a genre. I don't like Alternative because they slap it onto anyone, even those who are not alternative at all. So-called Indie or Alternative bands haven't really invented anything; they've just reinvented some genres from the '80s (and some from the '60s/'70s), contaminating them with electronics and other influences. Some have done it really well, like Radiohead or Beck, while others have been less consistent and successful. Maybe alternative rock is the last evolution of rock, like grunge, and then we talk about post rock. I don't know if this blessed rock is dead, especially since they even talk about post post rock, but it certainly isn't doing well. These are my opinions, of course, very personal and debatable.

Kosmo is right, Indie means independent because at the time of the birth of alternative rock, bands were self-produced and independent. I don’t really like the label alternative, and I use Indie as a genre that, as Kosmo says, isn’t really one. I really like Yo La Tengo, I’ll get this album as well.
