I really appreciate other genres, of course, we can't just get stuck on one.

Yes, I was saying prog when talking about myself, but in general, I was referring to those who listen to music different from their own.

I've hung out with quite a few punk, hardcore, etc. followers. They love to fill their mouths with obscure underground bands because it sounds so cool and to throw it in everyone else's face, let them play around, come on.

Shark, don't worry, the punks here just came to provoke in a progressive review, which they so hate because they don't understand it. Instead, they were disappointed, first because they have no arguments, second they found someone who can hold their ground, and one is even a woman (punks are notoriously misogynistic), third because they discovered that we prog listeners also listen to other music—at least we try, which is something they don't do (punks are notoriously snobs, not at all like fans of King Crimson or Battiato).

The only arguments you have are to copy and paste my sentences and respond to questions with more questions.

I said I don’t believe it, not that I’m absolutely certain. So since you know them so well, talk about them and let everyone get to know them, right? Instead of just criticizing without motivating your criticisms with valid and plausible arguments, by the way.

Fugazi, Hüsker Dü, Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine, I like them but I don't think they've invented anything new; as for Nick Cave, he is simply genius. I don't know the others and can't give my opinion. I reiterate, most people don’t know a damn thing about these names. I mentioned U2 and The Police so that everyone could understand. I don't doubt that these others are better than U2 and The Police, but to move up to a higher level you also need to get your music spread as much as possible, and if only a few people know you, that’s not enough to make you an Artist with a capital A. Once, to break through at the highest levels, you had to prove you were the best and churn out unforgettable masterpieces; now it only takes a good agent, a lot of hot air, and little substance, and this has been true since the 80s. So, if some groups that I or you might like have not broken through worldwide, it means they haven't invented anything new, they have a terrible manager, or they choose to remain an "elite" group or artist. Enjoy your meal.

of course what’s in the charts right now won’t go down in history (30 years ago it would) I said that a little while ago but to make history my dear you need to be at least somewhat famous and then I respond to your questions which you’re not doing, I asked you to enlighten us, to give us some names and how old you are but I see you’re avoiding those for some reason

But come on, you can't really say that the 80s went down in history for their anti-conformism, anti-star system, and substance??? So when were you born, out of curiosity???
