I fully agree with your speech. Glimpses of good American horror can be found in Rob Zombie's The Devil's Rejects. If you want some healthy horror these days, you have to go to France: High Tension, Calvaire, Martyrs, Frontiers. There are good things in Spain too, especially from Balaguerò with Darkness and Rec. I'm much more worried about the situation in Italy. The times of Suspiria are now far behind...

the scene on the phone with him upside down, the second dialogue between bob (in the car) and the lawyer, the theater scene, and the final 20 minutes are nothing short of spectacular. a tense film, excellently acted, featuring a terrifying De Niro. great portrayal of violence and excellent directorial ideas… "maybe I'm the big bad wolf…"

It's your opinion. But if you think I didn't mention Timberlake to avoid losing credibility, you're mistaken.

I haven't seen this yet. Cronenberg is a great director, so I trust your judgment. Spider is spectacular.

I'm talking about judgments. Nowadays, a movie (or album) is no longer judged for what it is but rather in relation to the past. An example? A Matter of Life and Death by Maiden is "nothing compared to The Number of the Beast." Instead of assessing it for its artistic value today, it is compared to works released 20 years earlier. I hear this discussion very often about movies as well. For me, this doesn't hold water. Anyway, I haven't had the chance to see the films you mentioned. I’ll try to remedy that. Regards.

The constant mistake people make is always comparing films with those from the past. It’s as if comparing a modern horror flick always pales in comparison to Profondo Rosso or Suspiria. I believe that judging a film does not mean relating it to masterpieces of the past. It’s an error that is increasingly common in the music scene as well.
