An album too "skeletal" to be true. A long runtime isn't enough to mask a Homme who seems devoid of ideas. In several tracks, he appears unsure of how to entertain the listener, diluting everything with solutions that feel rather self-serving. Nonetheless, there’s still that somewhat "alternative" vibe reminiscent of "Rated R" and "Songs for the Deaf," although it remains far from the artistic achievements of the latter.
