A recent statistical survey has shown that 3.5% of DeBaser reviewers read the writing guidelines (the minimum requirements to be published on these pages), while 100% check the infamous box claiming to have read them.
The same survey states that editors are at a concerning risk of extinction: three specimens have recently been sighted; one declares their intention to commit suicide soon. The others have been overwhelmed by the fatigue and boredom of correcting missing spaces, accents, capital letters, adding covers, and so on.
Three specimens surrounded by a thick horde of greedy reviewers who PRETEND to be edited & published but often don’t even make the effort to proofread themselves before sending (and guess who bears the brunt of the effort?). Other strange specimens send a review a day (as if it were their blog) or have forgotten there's a reason why the recommended character count is 1800.
Seriously... behind DeBaser, there isn’t a throng of little elves magically waving a wand over the reviews that PUFF, appear beautiful and polished on the homepage. There are a few people who sacrifice their time for this purpose. At least a thank you, for crying out loud.
Said in French: nous en avons marre! Many don’t bother reading the page of basic rules, those few suggestions for writing an acceptable review. Well, we won’t bother publishing them.
