I didn't even know she had passed away. The CD is from '97 or thereabouts, and reviewing it is a hassle. Minimal electronic, drones, deconstruction, openings and various stuff. In short, it takes time, effort, and other things.

Yeah. Actually, we talk freely about stuff that might have come out ten years apart. Whatever David Toop says, Amon doesn't really bother me much. By the way, were you the one talking about "millesuoni" in another review? It finally arrived, but I was a bit taken aback. In fact, it's not a book by Deleuze but a collection of essays ON Deleuze and his (pretentious) ideas regarding music. It all starts from the double CD (which I've been meaning to review for a long time but... I just can't manage it) from Mille Plateaux called "in memoriam gilles deleuze." Who knows. I'll let you know (assuming you were the one who brought up the topic...)

Cinematic Orchestra so-so, DJ Food already better, Amon Tobin has released for labels from all over the world if I'm not mistaken, moreover I think the best things he made were under the alias Cujo (and not for Ninja Tune). But they don't seem like artists of the "history of music" to me. Look, I'm a fan of d'n'b and related genres too, and I'm all for hybridization and innovation. It was just that particular phrase that seemed disrespectful to me and, above all, a sign of little musical culture. That's all.

Sorry gabbox, but are you the reviewer? Just to understand, because with this hell of nicknames, I can't keep up. It's not that I want to be aggressive, but holy shit if you touch the dub of the origins, I'm, I'm not responsible for myself. I already liked the pussyfoot more, Ninja Tunes, I don’t know, I’ve never liked their approach which I found a bit old-fashioned. In fact, I’ve never bought a Ninja Tunes CD. Ah, no, maybe I did buy one, the London Funk Allstars and that was enough for me...

a king tubby meets rockers uptown, a blackboard jungle, a satta dub, all stuff that even now should not just be matched, but approached. all the artists of the trip hop jungle downtempo scene have studied them by heart and you can tell, and I have to read that the funki porcini make "the Caribbean ganja smokers appear as Viennese ladies with a cigarette holder." kirye eleison, kristi eleison.

and then, if one must feel dub, let it be dub. but that heavy, hallucinatory type like Studio One, Jamaica in the seventies, not ‘making the Caribbean ganja smokers appear like Viennese ladies with a cigarette holder,’ those guys were producers who kicked ass, nothing but funki and funkie...

statik sound system/ WE (F-O-N-D-A-M-E-N-T-A-L "as is")/ the compilations "macro dub infection"/ omni trio/ tipper (have you ever heard his "surrounded"? more on the downtempo side than d'n'b, but truly classy)/ secret frequency crew/ and in the end that genre has been dissected in what I would say is a definitive way by the 6CD collection headz and headz2. as soon as I think of anything else, I'll write it down. and what about you?

The funky porcini have never convinced me. And, after all, neither have many of the other Ninja Tune productions, a label that's very hype but lacking in substance. These downtempo/dub/jungle hybrids were all the rage ten years ago, and I believe there’s much better out there.

In fact, I appreciated it hiver. If you think of anything else, let me know, as you can see I don't remember it.
