Well... I've always liked the way the voice 'sounds' in this LP, a bit distant, with a hint of echo: Van Morrison's voice, passionate and almost furious, is the lifeblood that warms these 8 idylls; furthermore, it is the main anchor in the rather free structures of the songs. I find it extraordinary that these 'free' pieces, rather than making you feel lost, seem to invite you to relax, they envelop you... at first, this record didn't quite grab me, but then it slowly seeped under my skin... what can I say, this album feels like bathing in the sun.
