Pink Floyd A Saucerful Of Secrets

some examples of good-important rock bands-artists, in my opinion: 80 = sonic youth, fugazi, xtc, big black, jesus & mary chain, theoretical girls, pop group, gang of four, talking heads, cocteau twins, x, green on red, mission of burma, r.e.m., thin white rope, husker du, death in june, red hot chili peppers, dinosaur jr., boredoms, soundgarden, ministry, pussy galore... should I continue with the 90s?

Well, anonymous friend, it depends on personal taste... I could agree with you about a lesser presence of significant albums in the 'purely' (let's say guitar, bass, drums, and at most vocals) rock realm (although we should also 'check' this - the assumption arises from the fact that many potential rockers have chosen different musical expressive means, like electronic music - for me, there are still many beautiful and important rock albums in the decades after the 70s; your argument might seem like a nostalgic one, clinging to your own past...

Well Josi, should I reply? Or rather, let me give you a tip... I've got 'payin' the dues', one of the most celebrated tracks by Hella, and, all in all, they aren't that different from Guns N' Roses' 'appetite for destruction' (first side)... I mean, Hella has a more underground appeal, but essentially for me there's a nice resemblance... I like them, I actually prefer the first side of 'appetite'...
The Jimi Hendrix Experience Are you experienced?

I recorded the live at Monterey from my cousin, my cousin on a really worn-out cassette years ago... it also features the cover of 'Like a Rolling Stone' by Bob Dylan, and anyway, for me it was and remains phenomenal. For me, Jimi live (including the BBC sessions) is better than his 'studio' work.
The Dream Syndicate The Days Of Wine And Roses

the thin white rope already... I have 'sack full of silver' and it's a great album... I tried to listen to it again but it just doesn't grab me that much, the voice doesn't appeal to me, loureedian but what it has in originality it loses in impact, for me... beautiful guitar intertwining, never read the lyrics (alas) and probably they had more drive live; for the rest, I much prefer 'gravity talks' by green on red, that one really enchanted me...

Pupi Avati La Casa Dalle Finestre Che Ridono

mmm... I haven't seen this film, but it has an instinctive charm for me ever since 'the house with laughing windows' was given as a 'nickname' by a guy I knew for a half-derelict tuff structure on the road to Caserta from my town... Besides, I too (class of '75, must be a disease...) am fascinated by films set in the seventies, including Maurizio Merli... in short, I'll get a hold of it, even though the only really shitty film of Avati's I've seen is the one with the kid who goes to America, late 80s or early 90s, and I have many prejudices against him passed on to me by my cinema expert Filippo... anyway, welcome Pupattola! And long live the de-scazzo, review medicines, acquaintances, couch fillings... I might just review my First Communion (and don’t steal my idea...)
