Divine Heresy Bleed The Fifth
Voto:
Good album, even though they need to find a more defined style.
Sepultura Arise

Beautiful, but I prefer Beneath The Remains.

I agree, for me this is also the best album by Sepultura. I haven’t listened to the works with Derrick.

See you tomorrow with the next episode of "Musica carnale VS Mucca pazza: jazz like you've never seen it before."
Miles Davis Bitches Brew
Voto:
I don't know, really. I've listened to it so many times; I think I've spent entire hours on it, and it has never managed to please me. I find neither hallucination, nor psychedelia, nor funkiness, nothing. Sorry.

Dolphy, you don’t know how many times I’ve tried with jazz records to reach total trance. At least last year, I think I spent whole hours on it. Listening again to that much-acclaimed B. Brew. Again and again, more and more. Nothing. As if I had never heard it before.

The problem, at least for me, is exactly this regarding Bitches Brew: I can’t find either psychedelia or visceral quality in that work. The electronic parts, the bass, and the trumpet seem really too disconnected from one another; at least for me, they don’t follow a logical thread. And this goes on for almost 30 minutes straight per song. Patience, once again, patience.
Baroness Red Album
Voto:
Last year, Relapse released too many albums; some are really great (Cephalic Carnage, Pig Destroyer, Alchemist, and the latest Rwake), but some aren't the best (The End, Baroness, and personally, even Minsk didn't blow me away). However, I don't think the label has lost its way; this year it's already kicked off with the new Genghis Tron and Origin, which are definitely worth it :P

I would like to add my reflection: is it possible that all (not one, not two, ALL) jazz musicians are ALL (and I repeat: ALL) absolute geniuses, uncontested, untouchable saints, etc.? Is it possible that there isn't even one record that deserves 5/5 but rather 4/5? Or 3/5? Anyway, I too have listened to Bitches Brew several times, trying to understand the meaning of those compositions, but I couldn't find it, oh well.

Anyway, I noticed that this review seems to be the exact opposite of my last one. Here we talk about warmth, passion, sensuality, carnality and so on, while in mine I discuss ferocity, coldness, extreme speed, and dehumanization. The only word we have in common is "Stunning" XD
