Nosebleed, it's not like I can list all the variations of metalcore in a comment. At this point, I should also mention people like Converge, Zao, Poison the Well, but the list would never end. There are countless variations of metalcore, I spoke about the "melodic" one because that’s exactly what I’m referring to in the review, and it’s probably the one that’s most popular among kids today. To Kosmo: I doubt you'll like them, but I can tell you that they take a LOT from the latest Napalm Death (especially from the "Smear Campaign" period). It's still stuff for roughnecks, you're too sweet and delicate :))) Bye!

I'll try to explain it briefly here: metalcore refers to a trend that has exploded (from a commercial standpoint) in the last 4-5 years in America and has become quite popular everywhere. Essentially, the genre blends Scandinavian melodic thrash/death with more distinctly emo-core parts, relying on the alternation between growled vocals (or screaming in some cases) and clean singing, especially in the choruses. If you’re familiar with the sound of bands like Unearth, Killswitch Engage, Caliban, As I Lay Dying and the like, you’re on the right track :)

X Ale9T0: read here--> Metalcore - Wikipedia the first 2 paragraphs. Anyway, I wasn't talking about metalcore, the album reviewed sounds grind/death. My point was simply this: since the modern scene is infested with metalcore (a genre that many, including myself, see as all the same without a shred of soul and personality), hearing something different or anyway genuine and fresh is a good thing. But Metalcore and Grindcore have absolutely nothing to do with each other, it was just a phrase "just to say."
