Daniele Luchetti Mio Fratello E' Figlio Unico

A good cast wasted by a pretentious script and a director who now seems truly beyond redemption. The premise that "missini-never-but-terrorists-maybe -who-knows" is really outrageous, regardless of one's political beliefs.

Hi Don, you surely have your good reasons for putting them on the same level, and I would like to understand them, but for me it’s not like that. I've always loved Bleach, and it remains the best among the three Nirvana albums for me, but in terms of inspiration, feeling, the desire to shock, to go beyond, Zen Arcade is unattainable. As for the post-Zen Arcade Husker Du, that’s debatable. Bleach is packed with alternative '80s material, drawing from the likes of the Melvins, Mission of Burma, and Husker Du. The post-Zen Arcade Husker Du represented POP-CORE, and Nirvana built their Nevermind on that, executing many "every everithings" or pop punk pieces like "Green Eyes," commendable, I’m the first to say it, but let’s honor those who did it first and earned only two pennies. Another thing that might sound silly but isn’t to me: the trippy, mind-blowing noise-psych tracks of varying lengths were part of the Husker's albums, see "Recurring Dreams" or the ones that close "Flip." Nirvana limited themselves to relegating them as ghost tracks. Maybe it’s a silly thought, but why didn’t they include something like "Gallons of Rubbing Alcohol" in the tracklist of "In Utero"? Or even that on "Nevermind"? They were their best tracks in my opinion :-). They couldn’t dare because unfortunately, they were under contract with, we know who. Cobain would have wanted to play that acid stuff like the Wipers (and if he had, I don’t think he would have even committed suicide), and then they would have been on the same level as Husker. Anyway, Nirvana is still a great band.

The Nirvana didn’t have the quirky genius of the Pixies, they didn’t have the furious yearning of the Husker Du, they didn’t have the noise wreckage of the Sonic Youth or the Cows, they didn’t have the impetuosity of Fugazi and Drive Like Jehu, they didn’t have the drama of the Jesus Lizard and Alice in Chains... yet they remain a great band.

the husker du were bigger than the nirvana, the nirvana never made a zen arcade (let's spread more gasoline on the fire)

....or the truth, dear preben. Is it more convenient for you to say that Vic is talking nonsense? Because I believe, reading your comments here, that you lack the cultural foundations to at least attempt to respond to his thought-provoking questions. It seems to me that you are actually masking your difficulties in following a conversation that is becoming increasingly intense and challenging due to your foundational knowledge and life experiences. And why not say it? I don't think anyone would mock you just for admitting that you don't possess a background in philosophy, sociology, psychoanalysis, or art, whatever you like. But to me, people who behave like you do are bothersome; by acting this way, you only demonstrate that you are wrong and also that you are not up to the task of the much-criticized Vic. Sure, Vic is certainly not an accommodating person, that much is clear, and I would never go out for a beer with him, but the unpleasant impression you left on me is undeniable. Don't take it personally; this is just the thought of someone passing by and reading the comments (not all, of course, 429 is a bit too many to read them all :-))
