But look, when I talk about his genius, I don't even consider him as a guitarist! He's great, sure! But that's not the most interesting part in my opinion. I judge him as a composer! Anyone who can blend such distant musical genres with such melodic vibrancy can only be a genius. He has created some fantastic pieces for guitar, but if you really want to know, the instrument he composes best on, in my opinion, is the piano: he has made some incredibly beautiful pieces.

For the record: I am a musician. However, I want to spread the music of Pino Daniele as much as possible, and to do that, I have to be very careful about how I talk about it! If I start saying he is the greatest bluesman of all time, then I get the average Stevie Ray Vaughan fan, who feels "Nun me scoccià" and then, with superficiality and prejudice, says to me, "What the hell did you write?" Do you understand now? The end justifies the means.

But do you know that a friend of mine bought it for the same reason? He said he was drawn in by the cover! Could it be that it was carefully crafted by a team of marketing experts? Anyway, the CD contains interesting insights, but I personally find it a bit boring even as background music. Still, not a bad review—brief but thorough.
