I don't know him... but from what I read, it doesn't seem very exciting. I'll take it down when I have some space!

In my opinion, the annual "One Shots" are just a way for Universal to rake in money. The real "One Shots" are those Vol. 1, 2, 3...: these new ones just take the songs accumulated in previous editions and redistribute them by year. Moreover, the old ones had a reason to exist... the editions from 1 to 8 contained quite enjoyable tracks, albeit hyper-commercial, while only the subsequent ones (probably not knowing what else to include) were made up of leftovers. Here, instead, they mix everything indiscriminately, excluding the year!

The album itself isn't bad (excellent tracks like "Waiting So Long" and "My Kind Of Lady"), but as you rightly point out, it represents a step back from the renowned "Breakfast In America"... the reason is indeed the internal clash between Hodgson (who, after this LP, will leave the group) and Davies. - Despite Hodgson's absence, I definitely prefer the subsequent "Brother Where You Bound."
