David Gilmour Live in Gdansk
Voto:
It may also be yet another money-making operation from good old David (as if he really needed it... he could even skip it!), but it is undeniably a well-made concert! His solo tracks are a bit weaker, but the Floyd's songs are masterful as always (although the version of "Astronomy Domine" featured here doesn’t seem to be the best). Special mention goes to "Echoes"... a masterful and devastating interpretation, worth listening to and relistening!

Having listened to it a few times to better focus on it... let's say it's a pleasant little disc, without too many pretensions. The classic car radio album, but it's not bad: it’s easy to listen to. "Give What Is Mine" is my favorite, while the rest has slightly fluctuating quality. From my point of view, the rating settles around 3 stars - Anyway, I reiterate that the recommendation is interesting!

For me, this "Permanent Waves" is another 5-star masterpiece. As Kembruck states, the album stands between two priceless gems like "Hemispheres" and "Moving Pictures"... and that makes life a bit harder for it! However, it comes out with its head held high since, in my humble opinion, each single track is a gem (above all: "The Spirit Of Radio," "Jacob's Ladder," and "Natural Science" --- The review is readable even though it's not the best... an album of such caliber undoubtedly deserved a greater effort!
Spock's Beard Octane
Voto:
"The Spock of Nick better than those of Neal!?" I would remove the question mark and replace it with a nice exclamation point. Undeniably, Morse’s Spock has produced valid material, but all too often it veered into derivative and the classic heard-and-heard-again. D'Virglio's, on the other hand, are an excellent rock band with a complex and enjoyable sound, endowed with enviable technical talent and, above all, with a more pronounced personality compared to the past.

Really a great concert! I find the reinterpretation of old classics, paired with the new pop tracks from the excellent "90125," particularly interesting - I agree with the common opinion that Rabin is a great guitarist. Unfortunately, the comparison with a genius like Howe tends to unfairly overshadow him (I must admit that I underestimated him at first as well): just look at the extraordinary performance on Starship Trooper to change your mind... different style but the same skill. - Finally... the DVD (or the VHS that I have) is much better than the incomplete and amputated version released on LP and the very first CDs.

Thank you again for the suggestions... as soon as I manage to listen to something, I'll gladly stop by to review it!

Thank you for the advice, Spirit! Could you please give me the names of a couple of Stratus albums... I did a bit of research (still quite quick), but at the moment I've really found very little!

An exceptional album, I won't add anything more!

I only know the Grand Prix by name, precisely because of Uriah Heep (Lanzon and Shaw). Unfortunately, I’ve never heard anything from their repertoire... you’ve piqued my interest. Here I read that there’s another singer... would you recommend this one or the debut where Shaw is? - Anyway, I’ll check something out to get an idea: 5 for the review because it’s good and because, as I said, you’ve intrigued me!
