John Wetton Caught In The Crossfire

Damn it, I forgot to add the tags and it all came out jumbled!!! Also, feel free to ignore the "PS" because being the first review I had no idea how to do it!... I hope it makes sense anyway!

ELP are and will always be my favorite band... stratospheric music!!! As for the review, I don't agree with some points (e.g., "The problem is that such mastery of technical means..."), however, it is very clear and comprehensive. As for the album... even though it's a debut, we are already at exceptional levels: Emerson writes and plays unimaginable melodies, Lake is a fantastic composer of ballads (both prog and non-prog) as well as a phenomenal singer and bassist, and Palmer is devastating on the drums!... What more could you want????

I saw it too that it has nothing to do with post rock... he probably clicked the genre by mistake! By "senseless" I mean giving a 1 to an excellent review for a trivial oversight, and especially rating an album as terrible without providing any reasoning... This, in my opinion, is SENSELESS!

PS: I’m new to DeBaser… anyway, I would like to invite the anonymous users to leave meaningful comments or at least to refrain from giving random 1s just for the sake of skewing the final score!!! Especially in the presence of Jethro Tull! THANK YOU!

My compliments to you... truly an excellent review: it faithfully reflects the album.
I also add that, despite many saying the opposite, Rock Island is, in my opinion, decidedly superior to the subsequent Catfish Rising (not yet reviewed).
Furthermore, I completely agree that "Strange Avenues" and "Big Riff And Mando" are the best tracks on the album.
In the end, I give a solid 5/5 to the review and confirm your 3/5 for the album.
