Mike Rutherford Acting Very Strange

Fully agree... the title track isn't bad, nor is "Maxine." Overall, unfortunately, it's really not much, especially after the excellent debut album: truly a shame.

Great signal London. The vote at the concert is, on the other hand, based on trust!

Great review, Hetzer... as always, your pages are a guarantee of quality. I should have been in Milan on October 24th: I let it go since the day after I had my graduation session. However, I watched numerous clips on YouTube from various dates of the "Fly From Here" tour, some even in HD: unfortunately, I must disagree with your excellent writing. To me, the band seems really lackluster. The positives are the tireless Howe and a Downes who, while undoubtedly less technical than Wakeman, plays with great taste in my opinion. Then I saw a Squire noticeably below his potential, a White who is now worn out, and a David who sounds good in the studio... but just can't make it live. I want to clarify, however, that if circumstances hadn't prevented me, I would have gone to see them anyway, and I probably would have still been enthusiastic!
Tangerine Dream The Virgin Years 1974-1978

My vote goes solely to "Phaedra," as it's the only one I know well... truly a gem of an album (the title track is monumental). The rest, I will likely listen to when it comes my way: if it's more or less at the same level, 'we're in business'! Great recommendation.

Great proposal, March... you really piqued my interest (and all the comments above are clear!). I will try to give it a listen to see if it’s within my 'strings'.
Brand X Moroccan Roll
Voto:
Great suggestion, Syd... I only know the first Brand X album, "Unorthodox Behaviour," and I must say it's really a fantastic record, expertly crafted: great technique combined with great substance. When I find this "Moroccan Roll," I'll definitely give it a listen!

The samples on Amazon didn't fully convince me. In any case, I'm aware that they are absolutely insufficient to get a more serious idea of the album... therefore, when the opportunity arises, I will explore it further. Thank you for the heads up!

I need to listen to it again since it's been ages since it last played in my player and I might have missed some details. In any case, roughly speaking, I agree with the review and the comments: I’d comfortably give it around 4 stars.
Van der Graaf Generator A Grounding In Numbers
Voto:
The album, in my opinion, is definitely well done: it manages to be both compact and very varied at the same time. As I mentioned in the comment I left on the previous review of "A Grounding In Numbers," paradoxically, despite (unlike the past) being written by the whole band, it feels more like a solo work by Hammill with short songs that reflect the mood of the moment: the spirit is very similar to that of "The Future Now" or "PH7." If I had to pinpoint a flaw... it is the same as "The Quiet Zone/The Pleasure Dome," meaning the tracks have an explosive impact live (I saw them in Milan on April 7th of this year) but are overly 'smoothed' in their studio counterpart. --- PS: a small note on the review. The drummer's name is Guy Evans and not John Evans.
Black Sabbath Live At Last
Voto:
I haven't had the chance to listen to this live Sabbath performance... I was just checking something on YouTube, and I must say that for being an (ex) bootleg, the audio isn't bad at all. --- But you really tear them apart: okay, they might not have been virtuosos PER DOC, but Iommi really "travels," and he does it quite well... probably his sound in concert is more stripped down because, obviously, he can't perform all the overdubs that are on the studio tracks. Ozzy is Ozzy, for better or for worse. --- When I find it, I'll be happy to give it a listen.
