Pink Floyd Pulse
Voto:
Sophistication of high (indeed, very high) class reserved only for a crowd of devoted fans and passionate collectors. First place on the charts, and what else could you expect? Marco Poletti Dixit.
Pink Floyd Obscured By Clouds
Voto:
A disc far from essential. If you want to collect all the Pink Floyd albums, this is one of those 4-5 that you can also skip buying. However, if the derecensor thinks this album is really worth a 5, well, what can I say, ad majora. Marco Poletti Dixit.

One of the less successful albums by Pink Floyd (but let's be clear, not the worst). The music is always very beautiful, but less compelling and refined than usual. Everything is encapsulated in "Quicksilver"; the rest feels somewhat unnecessary. Yet, even when they're not in the mood, they always know how to amaze and captivate (I've always considered them charming, yet at the same time, dark, English wizards). Marco Poletti Dixit.
Pink Floyd Meddle
Voto:
Nebulous cover, and a rather disconcerting album. Pink Floyd, as usual, destroy the very art of music and violently assault it from the inside. The tracks are almost always mysterious, and therefore very little catchy. It would be hard to get carried away, but certain musical (and vocal) inventions leave one breathless. More psychedelic compared to the previous "Atom Heart Mother" (1970), still somewhat ethereal, yet wonderfully capable and dazed. Perfection will only come with "The Dark Side of the Moon" (1973), to then repeat itself, almost magically, with "The Wall" (1979), but here we are on the brink of absolute masterpiece. To be preserved faithfully. Marco Poletti Dixit.
Pink Floyd Live At Pompeii
Voto:
Album that I don't own. Event (therefore, concert) that, by hearsay, I know. I absolutely must fill this very shameful gap. Adios, I'll let you know. Marco Poletti Dixit.
Pink Floyd Live 8 Reunion 2 Luglio 2005
Voto:
Reunion at Live 8. We all saw it, and everyone, except for a few gonzo types, felt moved. How beautiful, what amazing moments. And when they started singing "Comfortably Numb," well, what can I say. Fuck all the anti-Pink Floyd people. Marco Poletti Dixit.
Pink Floyd Is There Anybody Out There The Wall Live 1980 - 81
Voto:
"The Wall" (1979) was a masterpiece, impossible to translate musically during a concert (it lacks the pathos, it lacks some crucial emotions). Imagine if one even tries to translate it onto a CD. Praiseworthy intentions, all very nice, undeniably great music, but a certain underlying coldness that risks trivializing the entire work. Instead, it deserves a 5 for the monstrous funeral cover (Oscar-worthy). Marco Poletti Dixit.
Pink Floyd Echoes The Best Of
Voto:
Exaggerated! It’s a best of much less rich than one might think, but instead aims to highlight tracks perhaps less known and less played during concerts. In short, okay the obsession, but after a while you risk becoming a caricature. Or maybe you’re so alternative and dazed that you believe Pink Floyd's music sucks? Well, if that's the case, good luck. Marco Poletti Dixit.
Pink Floyd Delicate Sound Of Thunder
Voto:
Magniloquent and epochal live transposition of some great hits by Pink Floyd. A colossal show with a huge visual (and obviously sonic) impact, yet everything seems cold and unresolved. It could have turned out better, but it could have turned out worse as well. Marco Poletti Dixit.
Pink Floyd Animals
Voto:
It's not the best Pink Floyd album; in fact, it's one of the least fascinating. Too psychedelic, too experimental, too self-indulgent. Gilmour and Waters only occasionally showcase their best talents (but when they do, it's mouth-watering), and yet, compared to their celebrated masterpieces ("The Dark Side of the Moon" (1973), it's quite inferior. Perhaps, in their eagerness to experiment, Gilmour & Co. have stretched the rope a bit too much. Luckily, after this will come "The Wall" (1979), a masterpiece, and then, as expected, the absolute void, with some rare flashes of genius from Gilmour's musical insanity. To give "Animals" a 5 means to be disingenuous: those who idolize this album clearly don't love Pink Floyd (and understand very little about music, but whatever...). Marco Poletti Dixit.
