Pink Floyd The Piper At The Gates of Dawn

Another review of Pink Floyd? And again on "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn"? Why not, there should be many more duplicates on these albums. Immortality is a gift granted to only a few, unfortunately.

Grasshopper always writes very well. And this review, coincidentally, is no exception.

Alright Krystal, but it's all free stuff. Negramaro? Mattafix? Sting is the only saving grace, but just because you didn’t hear anything doesn’t mean it was such a negative thing. I stayed home with the air conditioning, much better, you could have done that too. And then damn, you complain if the service was poor. It was free, what more did you want? Gold?

Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band Safe as Milk
Voto:
How to break modern music into pieces and reshape it in an exemplary manner. Rock and blues are ground to bits, and Captain Beefheart enjoys making fun of us a little (what's it cost him?). Debut album, and Ry Cooder was also in the Magic Band, it’s a series of rather ungraceful tracks, almost clumsy, with shouts here and there, and a bit of good old plagiarism from the very early Frank Zappa. Yet everything is paradoxically very beautiful and elegant. Not a 5 though, that’s reserved for perfect albums. Here, perhaps, there’s a bit of a lack of coherence. But it’s just a little, don’t worry.

The greatest album in the history of music. And fuck you, Scaruffi.
The Jimi Hendrix Experience Are you experienced?
Voto:
One of the most influential records, and perhaps the most important, in the entire history of rock. At the Monterey festival in 1967, Hendrix shocked everyone by playing and singing incredibly intricate music born from years of studio recordings and artistic dedication. Wild rhythms, excellent tracks, scandalous music: all the art, and a bit of healthy madness, is in this album that sold an astonishing number of copies at the time. A manifesto of Hendrixian psychedelia (less romantic and more direct than the flower power of India and Seibaba in the Beatles), with great goosebump-inducing blues excursions. The tracks are all stunning, but at least "Foxy Lady," "Manic Depression," "Third Stone from the Sun," and "May This Be Love" should be remembered. Originally containing 11 tracks, there has long been an edition available that adds 3 earlier songs, and these are no ordinary extras, considering they are 3 absolute masterpieces: "The Wind Cries Mary," "Hey Joe," and "Purple Haze." A must-have at all costs, using a play on words, whatever it takes.
Laura Nyro Eli And The Thirteenth Confession
Voto:
Laura Nyro was one of the few artists capable of singing across three octaves of vocal range, and just for this reason, she should be classified as a great international artist. Tragically passing away in 1997, Laura Nyro was immense particularly in two albums: this one and "New York Tendaberry" (1969), but it’s perhaps here that she expresses her best potential. From jazz to blues, from soul to typically orchestral pop, from classical-sounding symphonies to some musical hints. The arrangements by Charlie Calello are thrilling, and songs like "Luckie," "Woman's Blues," and "The Confession" are truly high-class gems. Not to mention Nyro as a pianist. This record is the most important in female singer-songwriter history and a new turning point within the singer-songwriter genre, a goldmine for many subsequent albums by singers who are certainly less skilled and less courageous than Laura Nyro.

Tim Buckley Goodbye And Hello

Oh, but can’t I even say that I don’t like Buckley? Do you like him? Good, I’m glad. I don’t like him. And what will it be... And then ā€œpiù tantoā€ is just not how you say it, I’ll work on the music but you should brush up on your Italian a bit.
