The Beatles Revolver
Voto:
The review is not really a review; it's a charming little story that, upon closer inspection, is truly quite amusing. I don’t think Scaruffi can feel offended; there’s a humor here that is anything but vulgar, almost innovative in fact. "Revolver" is naturally a masterpiece, one would expect nothing less, and I would like to say to Saputello, who considers this album overrated, that the great musicians he cites (Beethoven, Mozart) were the masters of classical music, just as the Beatles were the masters of beat pop. It's not insignificant if you think about it...
Luca Dirisio La Vita E' Strana
Voto:
Luca Dirisio? Is this where we’ve come to? Reviewing Dirisio's albums? But once on DeBaser, weren’t reviews written about Springsteen, Pink Floyd, Lou Reed, De Andrè, Battisti, Zappa, Presley, Gene Vincent, Coltrane, B.B. King… What happened to the beautiful reviews of the past? We’ve truly fallen low…
Lou Reed Legendary Hearts
Voto:
A less inspired Lou Reed than usual but still able to compose great songs, and, alas, a few trivialities that are a bit self-indulgent: yet, songs like "Home of the Brave" can hit straight to the heart and strike without mercy. A short review, too short, practically non-existent, making it inevitably impossible to rate.

Let's start with a premise: "Genesis Live" is not "Foxtrot," meaning, to be clear, it is not a masterpiece. It’s a good musical product, capable of demonstrating how truly skillful the Genesis were at creating atmospheric and interspatial sounds (like Pink Floyd, after all), but here they are only half of what they were with "Foxtrot." Unsurprisingly, the standout is the excellent stage chameleon Peter Gabriel. The review, sorry Andrea, I didn't like very much. De gustibus...
Lou Reed Set The Twilight Reeling

I just got back from vacation (let's say about three hours ago), and I can't help but stop by DeBaser, three weeks away is quite a lot (I almost cry), and I see that in August DeBaser I don't recognize you, among a review by a guy named Luca Dirisio and another unknown, Riccardo Maffoni, interesting reviews on artists of a certain caliber like Lou Reed pop up in bunches, and I see that right away, in mendacity as one would have said in the past, the good Punisher slaps him with an unjust 2. I put things in order and give a 4 to this excellent album by an inspired Lou Reed.

Dear reviewer, if this "A" deserves a 4, what do we give "Acqualung," a 19? The ugliest and most obscene album by Jethro Tull, frankly hateful, technopop just because it was trendy. For those who loved them back in the days of "Stand Up," this is a major disappointment. But I'll give you a pass: you might be too young, and anything signed by an artist with a highfalutin name seems beautiful to you, but trust me, this is an abomination.

Perfect music, top-tier rhythm, overflowing seduction; after that, they got lost in the labyrinth of the star system, but "Rio" was a Bible in the Eighties.
Alice Gioielli Rubati
Voto:
The robbed of the title is Battiato, and Alice is the thief. Covers interpreted with class, but also with a dangerous dose of snobbery and haughtiness. Skillful, but always proud and conceited: if she were a bit more humble (or at least showed it), she would be even better. Then of course, certain covers (like "Mal d'Africa"), with all due respect, redone by Alice cry for vengeance.
Pink Floyd Animals
Voto:
In my view, the album is widely overrated (especially here on DeBaser). "The Piper...", "The Dark Side...", "The Wall" are unsurpassable peaks; this one is nice, but less magical and cohesive. Nonetheless, it has some not insignificant touches of genius ("Pigs," "Sheep"). An eternal review, in the sense that it never seems to end, and a duplicate of a duplicate.
