I don't have an Ibanez, but coincidentally I have a Music Man JPM (the John Petrucci, did you doubt it???). In fact, if I've said things that seemed exaggerated to you, I'm wide open to your criticisms, but in my impression, you all seemed a bit aggressive and even too much for what I said. I never said that Malmsteen isn't fast; I said he's not as incredible as you claim. As for his Strato, I find it challenging only because it’s scalloped and it requires skill to play on a scooped fretboard, which is something that must be acknowledged. So, Malmsteen does excellent things on that guitar. Honestly, while trying out Malmsteen's songs, I’ve never found exorbitant difficulties (like "Far Beyond the Sun," "Evil Eye," "Black Star..."), as I have noticed in Vai's songs, Eric Johnson (whom I find difficult to execute in terms of "expressiveness," even with the guitar I have, it's all even harder), and in a piece that I find truly absurd to play: "The Dance of Eternity," at least for me. Anyway, could you tell me which piece Malmsteen plays so fast? Is it in "Marching Out" or is it "Marching Out," because I have all his albums and maybe that fast passage slipped by me. Anyway, I believe I deserve criticism, but not some of the rather mean things said by some of you. Thanks anyway.

I know that back then the guitarists were two, but now live they perform these pieces with three.

Haku, you are unfortunately drowning in crap by reading my crappy reviews... so if you don't want to fill yourself with crap, don't read the crap.

In fact, I admitted that I might be a bit biased against Petrucci and company... but I don't believe I've made such exaggerated claims as you want to imply and as almost everyone wants to imply.

I don't think I'm exaggerating when it comes to other guitarists. Apart from my artistic love for Petrucci (and maybe I can understand that I'm a bit biased and I get that), I don't believe I've denigrated other guitarists. I only mentioned that Malmsteen's style is a bit outdated and has now been surpassed, but during his live performance at the G3, I praised him quite a bit, at least I think so. If it doesn't come across well from the lines of the review, I apologize, I may have expressed myself poorly and I'll try to do better next time. Regarding guitar technique, I believe I know enough, more than some and less than many, but I do understand, so what I say, I say because I know. I would never dream of saying or judging something I don't know. If someone comes to talk to me about the violin, I can only listen; if someone comes to talk to me about guitar and guitarists, I try to share my personal experiences and limited knowledge with others. If this is my mistake, I apologize.

I'm sorry, but is it a crime to be a long-lived group? You ask for reviews of young stuff, but is it a crime not to do so? And am I to be considered an idiot if I don't? If you say yes, I will go in search of young and emerging groups so you can, for once, appreciate what I write.
