Just as I can find in "2Dusk & her Embrace" a masterpiece, as I find "Necroticism, descanting the insaloubrus" to be a masterpiece, or as I say that "Selling England" is a masterpiece, or "De Mysteriis DHOM Sathanas," or "In the nightside Eclipse," or even in other myriad albums (I've only mentioned metal now, but perhaps that's because true masterpieces aren't found in pop...)... Let's say that, in any case, I don't like light music and I don't find it as technical and artistic as you do. For me, the highest musical expression is Rock with all its genres and degeneracies, including metal, crossover, straightforward rock & roll, etc.... Pop... there’s pop of class and well done... For example, I hate Bublè because he does nothing but copy the greats of the past like Sinatra who made great albums... and they would be masterpieces if only I could appreciate that genre more...

And what led you to give such a low judgment on Images & Words? A decent album... well... it's a milestone of rock... I repeat that I listen to everything, even Bryan Adams because I love his songs, I can also listen to more commercial stuff like Blink182... I could listen to anything and I do listen to anything. But I love Dream and defining Images & Words as decent is really madness in my opinion. Then whether you like it or not is your own matter and I don't want to criticize your personal taste.

Anyway, I know, it will be as you say, in broad terms, and I’ve listened to everything you've told me were masterpieces of Pooh even if reluctantly... I believe that who really knows nothing is Parsifal, who just can’t accept anything except his own.

In virtuosic metal, there are no masterpieces? Where do you live? For you, IMAGES & WORDS, PASSION & WARFARE, THE DIVINE WINGS OF TRAGEDY, SCENES FROM A MEMORY, SURFING WITH THE ALIEN, AWAKE, aren't masterpieces? A masterpiece of prog made in Italy is one of Alan Sorrenti's early albums, titled "Come un vecchio incensiere all'alba di un villaggio deserto," or Impressioni by PFM... well, these are dated records... I don't listen to them much anymore... but they were magnificent at the time and still retain their freshness now... you can't possibly say that in "my" genre there are no masterpieces; those dated ones, the ones mentioned above, are current and immortal just the same.

And I say Pino Daniele... in my opinion, he's an excellent guitarist, and he's written beautiful pages of Italian music, sure... some lesser ones but some truly valuable ones. Now don't ask me to go into detail because I've only heard quite sporadic things since, as I said, I really don’t care much for Italian music. For instance, Alex Britti... he's a great guitarist but he writes crap songs, not so much in the lyrics but musically... if he focused exclusively on the blues... it would be really nice... even if his concerts are suggestive... let’s say he’s a one-man band... he does almost everything alone... but he could give more. I appreciate Pinuccio more.

I know a myriad of music genres because I listen to everything... but I just can't stomach Italian music.

In fact, Malmsteen for me is a big mess... he's been stuck in the 70s and hasn't evolved in style... now there are thousands who are better than him (certainly not me... but many others).

In fact, I specified that even in jazz (Gambale, Lane, George Benson,...) or in flamenco I have something of Paco de Lucía, or in classical with Williams... so... I know...
