Dream Theater Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From a Memory

Petrucci a clown?... you just said something huge. Perhaps the only guitarist who doesn't even take half a step during a concert... Mr. Big put on a show and played like gods, all prog bands know how to play like gods because it's a genre where technique counts a lot.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...this is why you’re so biased against metal...those who listen to classical music or classical musicians have their eyes closed to other music...it’s logical...it’s like that...because YOU LISTEN TO THE REAL MUSIC, THE GREATEST, THE MOST HONEST ONE THAT HAS LASTED SINCE THE DAWN OF TIME...music evolves...and besides those three, who do you know? Do you know contemporary music like Ligeti, Berio, Schoenberg, or other minimalist composers? What a shitty culture I have!!!!!!!

MrBig may be clowns, but they've written indelible pages of the 90s... weren't Kiss clowns too, and Alice Cooper?

And you excuse me, dear anonymous, how do you feel? Let's see if your music is worth as much as mine. If we have to base it on value, as you are doing, let's see…

I'm not a huge fan of Symphony X (you know, a Symphony fan hates DT, a DT fan hates Symphony...) but they are great musicians, really talented. I have everything by Opeth and I like them, but I'm not particularly excited about them; however, that album with clean singing is fascinating... or I can't remember what it's called. The latest: Ghost Reveries is great anyway.

What a bunch of crap about groups? Have you ever heard Dream play? Do you know who Mr. Big are and who played in that amazing band (Eric Martin, Paul Gilbert, Billy Sheehan...)? I can understand your views on death metal bands, but do you know how important Metallica (forget about their latest rubbish) and Slayer are for metal and rock in general? Yeah, I have a musical culture based solely on extreme metal... okay... but that's still music... I could say the same about you, but I don’t judge your music as crap, so don’t judge mine as crap! Seems fair to me, doesn’t it?

Sure.. of course! For those who listen to metal, they can recognize the differences! Easy, now I better understand your point of view, even though I still don't share your hatred for this album, which, in my opinion, is a masterpiece.

Easy, but I’m not mad at you...really, I appreciate that you took on a review of a genre that doesn’t suit you (don’t deny it...) and you did a good job, in my opinion (as a fan, I admit) too derogatory...

Dream Theater (progressive-metal), Mr. Big (Hard-AOR), Obituary-Death-Carcass (Death), Slayer, Metallica (Thrash) and many others...
