Domo984..this, I will give you credit for, is one of the most severe side effects of DT fans..it tends to make you a bit of a show-off like them.

I believe there's a bit of prejudice there. No offense... it's not like you're going to shoot me now...

Musically poor? Now I understand why you appreciate grunge... not to take anything away because I listen to it too, even if I consider it a genre of unique uselessness.

You are victims of prejudice: TECHNIQUE-DISGUST, 4 CHORDS-ART...

Give that album you know so well to some real musician and you’ll see how they’ll tear it apart, spouting such blasphemies... it’s no coincidence that it’s an album acclaimed by everyone... and I see that this denigration towards DT, in my opinion, is jealousy from those who, failing to reach a certain level, try to tear it down... I’ve heard people say that Portnoy is not a good drummer when we all know he’s one of the best in the world... I challenge any of you to conceive a masterpiece like I&W... ps: the solo of Under a Glass Moon is in the ranking of the 100 most beautiful solos in rock history... PPSS: Portnoy has been inducted into the Hall of Fame...

This is the usual nonsensical talk from those who say that metal is dead... for me, it's alive and well in its most original form: that of a niche genre, meant for a select few enthusiasts or aficionados. It seems strange that you specifically mentioned Metallica and Iron Maiden, who have tried and continue to try to kill metal... moreover, metal was born as a niche and little-known genre, very underrated and prey to prejudices... today, what is passed off as metal is the nu-metal of Linkin PORK and System of a Down (even if they are more crossover, they still suck), or stuff like Korn or Bizkit... metal is alive: thrash is there and fortunately you don't know it; otherwise, you’d trash that too. Black metal is alive, death metal is present... prog is increasingly vibrant even though it's becoming commercialized and spreading, precisely thanks to the success of DT... think about it: they have 20 years of career and they are certainly not rookies... so after 20 years, a bit of success is deserved! Grunge is a terrible genre: it's just a genre made for those who can't play and want to express, through whiny screams and depressed words, some sort of universal message. Kurt wasn't all that genius. I can understand Pearl Jam or Alice in Chains... but the rest... zero... Those are not masterpieces. Please...

Oh no? Oh no? And what would the masterpieces of the '90s be? Laura Pausini’s albums? Listen... I&W is a masterpiece of every genre: metal with Pull Me Under, pop with Another Day, prog with Take the Time and Metropolis... it spans every genre. Scenes from a Memory is much more prog... and in my opinion, it surpasses I&W. As for that, Lean Into It by Mr. Big is also a cornerstone of the '90s... even if it got too overexposed with that damn To Be With You... Listen... I don’t really think you’ve ever truly listened to these albums otherwise you wouldn’t speak like this... knowing guitarists doesn’t mean knowing how to appreciate them, and knowing DT doesn’t mean you actually appreciate them... you need to get right in the middle of their music to really appreciate it. Then... points of view... explain to me what makes you hate DT so much...

Petrucci made music history in the 90s with the sole Images & Words... Malmsteen has been making the same album for 20 years. Images & Words is a milestone of metal, progressive, and progmetal.

Goddess of music... you should also love these guitarists... after all, you are music and these three pain in the necks, as you say, are making the history of music in recent years...
