Why, did the Beatles know how to play? Besides the little songs they made... what could they really play? Did Nirvana know how to play? Does Billy Corgan know how to play? Billy, one of the greatest composers of the 90s? What absurdity are you saying? And who would this excellent drummer be? Dave Grohl? If he's a drummer... then anyone can play those silly things... since there are you who buy their records...

I think that technique is a primary aspect of art... without it, not much can be accomplished... take, for example, Michelangelo's David... if Michelangelo hadn't been an expert in his technique, that perfect work wouldn't have come to life... technique is essential to provide quality (and not beauty... beauty is subjective).
