WDADU must remain as it is... it’s beautiful because it is so... if they reworked it I would really be disgusted... okay with LaBrie it would be a billion times better... but it would be like renouncing the history of DT... and their past...

The discussion has taken some absurd tones, with continuous contradictions from the anti-theater folks... which is truly hilarious to see people who can't even coherently argue their own criticisms. Meanwhile, I'm watching the DVD in your face...! Seeing Petrucci, Mike, and Myung returning to the corridors of Berklee is such an emotion!!!!!!!

DT are not just technical: there are songs that are truly beautiful without relying on technical aid: Thru her eyes, The spirit carries on, Hollow Years, Wait for sleep, the silent man... but how many songs have you heard from DT? If you want a purely technical band, listen to Nitro!!!!

In short... it's no coincidence that Portnoy is in the Hall of Fame of drummers… it's NOT a coincidence, it means there's value. I tip my hat to the reviewer: they did an amazing job and the review is long given that it's a double album... Let’s be clear, DT is my favorite band... but I listen to everything from the rock of the '60s to today's rock (and by rock, I mean eeeeverything rock…)

I wasn’t responding because lunch and a couple of hours of guitar kept me away from this discussion. Giovanni Petrucci, dear anonymous... you keep making comparisons that are utterly nonsensical... take Deicide out of the equation because they have nothing to do with it... if you want to make comparisons, include Symphony X, Fates Warning, Vanden Plas, Pain of Salvation, Venturia, and others... not Deicide (I hope you at least know 2 of the bands I mentioned before...). You mentioned the billionaire guitarist...!!! Exactly... you said it right... with years of study and his professionalism, whether you like it or not, he has managed to get to where he is, writing music that is great for a ton of people, among fans and critics who praise him.
