ah lethe..I see it this way...I understand thrash with those bands..that’s it...and then, in my opinion, we are bickering about what's true thrash and what's fake thrash..- thrash is thrash and that’s it...long live prog-metal

I consider Kill'em All not the ultimate thrash manifesto; when I say manifesto thrash, I mean the dear old Reign in Blood! I see Kill'em All as thrash in terms of raw, fast, and powerful sounds. Master of Puppets is definitely thrash, but not at all some kind of thrash manifesto! Bartleboom perhaps expressed a concept of mine that I can't quite describe. For me, the true thrash is Slayer, Anthrax, Testament. That’s all... I'm not saying Metallica aren't thrash, but they have gradually strayed from that path.

Lethe... but are you the Lethe from the Dream Heater forum? If so... well... then I’ll tell you that in my opinion, Metallica has made only one album that is REALLY thrash, which would be Kill 'Em All... raw and rotten just the right amount!!!!! Then... if we need to talk about the rest of thrash... just let me know!

terrible review, and let me explain why: you try to be a purist of metal...inflexible, but as you’ve been pointed out, this album has nothing to do with hard rock. It doesn’t mean that an album doesn’t sound like Maiden and therefore isn’t metal. This album is a metal album, heavy metal as it’s played now in the 90s. The thrash may have been abandoned, but the purely metal outbursts, more or less heavy, are definitely there. An example is "Sad But True," trivial but still heavy... etc. You’re right in saying it’s an album that’s too mainstream, and then... what the hell do Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit have to do with Metallica?... Limp and Link sure don’t make metal, and they never will!... The hard-rock turn will only be seen with "Load," with some bluesy undertones as well... This, at least, was still Metal!

Surely a good review... but I consider this album a sort of metal killer... too mainstream, too commercial... just think that from this album, there are as many as 5 singles released (or 6?)... Nothing else matters is the most infamous track ever featured on a declared thrashers' album... the songs have a simple structure and the solos are almost all the same... the rhythms slow down and darken without being as sharp as the first four from the 4 horsemen... for someone approaching metal, and Metallica, it’s definitely great, although there’s a risk of getting closer to the next phase rather than the first... however, I consider it mediocre as an album.

To call them geniuses is too much, and especially to compare them to Pink Floyd. The review is heavily influenced by the fact that it's your favorite band...and I understand you!...the idea of recording everything with a standard camera is already an old thing!...overall a good review...but for them, it's a thumbs down.

Certainly a beautiful album, with the monumental The Glass Prison and Blind Faith, which only hits hard after many listens. I find the suite stunning. For me, an album with very few weak points. Rece, however, I didn't like that much!
