Ah, one last thing. Dwarves don't seem to fall under De André's category of the "stubborn and contrary," along with Rom puttane, etc., quite the opposite (see Un Giudice) 😉

Beautiful review although I think you saw in the text something that is closer to your way of seeing life (a bit pessimistic and nihilistic, if I may) than to Faber's. Like the fact that the distinction between good and evil has now been lost, that life is a deception, that the soul does not exist. I can't imagine him pondering these questions and writing a text about them. He simply loved to tell Stories, the ones told by men directly with their own lives. He was a humanist, not a philosopher. He was an observer of human behavior, not a metaphysician, and had a very clear idea of where good was (clearly not in heaven, but on earth), see the last piece of the album.

Here there is so much to listen to, I'm doing it.. Nostalgic melancholy at its purest state. It reminds me a lot, with due distinctions, of Nixon by Lambchop, starting from the artwork style. The flight attached to the balloons is very Mercury Rev in Holes, though. Thanks for the good recommendation.

I don't remember it with much enthusiasm, even though lagna-rock (or pop) is one of my (if not the) favorite genres (for example, in light of certain circumstances these past few days, I've been listening to the early Belle & Sebastian nonstop...)
