Ferzan Ozpetek La Dea Fortuna

I know that what I am about to write may surprise and disappoint some people. I don't remember where I read about someone who, when Dylan Thomas died, harshly criticized those who remembered him as a great alcoholic poet rather than as a great poet who was an alcoholic. If Ozptek continues in such a one-dimensional way (with the suspicion that he confuses art with "politics"), I fear that shortly he will be discussed more as a great homosexual director than as a great director who happens to be homosexual.

I guess I have to go see this darn movie.... What a drag!!! Honestly, I wouldn't want to be facing a film hater and trust him too much 🙂

Benigni may have become part of the "system" for a while now, and those who loved him at the beginning for his rough spontaneity, his unconventionality, and especially for his anticlerical and anti-bourgeois political positions can hardly help but detest him now. Nevertheless, the fact remains that he is a force of nature. Listening to him tell stories and speak is always a great breath of fresh air; he has a clear mind, never trivial, captivating, regardless of the topic he addresses. I personally consider him something to be proud of as Italians. Regarding the film, I haven't seen it, but if someone wanted to make this film, it’s because they believed in it, and for that, it deserves respect, not certainly pre-conceived or superficial critiques.

I would have liked to write about this album myself, but I was afraid of being lynched and I didn't. You, with the courage of late adolescence, did it 🙂. You'll improve with the years; for now, your age is clearly reflected in your writing style (@IlConte: yes, I think not more than that.)

He grew up with the ratings, we're at 4 stars..

I only judge the music. I listened to it. I would define it as “a low-pressure record.” From certain points of view, it reminds me of the great refinement without flair of the early Elbow (but back then I liked the refinement of Elbow). Generally, much more form than substance. However, it could grow on repeated listens.

Look, after I heard him say on TV that it's as easy for him to write songs as it is to sneeze (or something like that..) he became particularly distasteful to me.. He sings like the early Capossela, the one who was intimate, and composes, from what I've heard, like Calcutta (but I like Calcutta). That said, you've piqued my curiosity and I'll try to listen to him again 🙂

Scott Walker's voice is a unique thing, unsettling in its beauty, alluring and melancholic with echoes of a lost paradise within it; I already mentioned this in a review of Scott 3. The final quote from an author I may have only heard mentioned is beautiful.
