Psychopompe, you are amazing. You’ve said some very wise and BALANCED things (got it, Fallen). I hadn’t read them. I completely agree with you. Try to make him understand since he doesn’t want to talk to me anymore.

Alright, but one last question. Are the things you wrote in the profile true or did you copy them from Marilyn Manson's biography? ... Come on, let's laugh about it! After all, even though I turned 93 yesterday, it doesn't mean I can't still want to joke around. My grandson, who is about your age, doesn’t take it too hard when I criticize his musical tastes (hi! hi!). And finally, if you really have problems, as you write in the profile, this place is too DEMOCRATIC and wild to solve them.

I found these comments on another one of your reviews. They expressed exactly the same concepts as I did. I must say I'm not even original...
ahh, these youths...

Don't take it personally, Follen, perhaps a bit more irony is needed to describe those "contents."

I hadn't read your profile. Now I have, and I got the confirmation. I'm sorry again. I won’t do it anymore.

Dear Fallen. Perhaps you are right; I have been a bit categorical. The problem, however, as I think you may have realized between one dive and another into the wonderful music (it may be) of this CD, is that the world has recently become very full of extremism. And your review is EXTREME AND WITHOUT A HINT OF DISTANCE AND IRONY (read some of my OVERLY ENTHUSIASTIC reviews and you will notice that there is always a point where I tell myself: "Hey, come back down to earth, don't take this too seriously"). I cannot stand those who think that to distract the mind one must turn to songs like they would to silly and disengaged movies. But your review, and how you react to criticism, has the ability to make me reconsider. It is possible to talk about serious and deep themes (like death, the struggle between good and evil, humanity's ancestral fears) even in a song. But one must still maintain a pinch of irony. Listen to All Stripped Down from Bone Machine by Tom Waits (actually, listen to the whole album) and notice (as he stated) how even in a song with such serious themes (the final judgment) he manages to "lighten it" by singing in a falsetto like Prince. And then, to finish, from your reaction I imagine you are no older than 18, and perhaps I was like that at your age too. You'll understand later. Keep your chin up. Don’t take it personally.

“Evil”, “Abominations”, “Ghostly”, “Malignant”, “Infernal”, “Horrific”, “Beastliness”, “Unhealthy” (x2), “Unsettling”, “Demonic”, “Musical Massacre”. I’ll stop here, more or less halfway. But guys, relax, go to the movies and watch a film with De Sica and Boldi. And then, to quote Foscolo, Leopardi, and Pascoli to review music (music?) of this kind. Please…

Enough with the proliferation of "they are the new...". Enough with the proliferation of groups made up like a cooking recipe. Enough with the "next big things" manufactured at a drawing board.

I personally didn't find the Smiths in this CD.

"The great BIG in the sky" is a typo or did the cover decide to rename it this way (it somewhat resembles a song by Mina, "Il grande grande nel cielo"!!). Who knows.
