And then I adjusted to the tone of the review (beautifully written, mind you)...

Hey, hi Dave. Nothing, I was just pondering, but not really.

Better, a "worrying nihilist at the final stage" (we are all a bit victims of a little nihilism; it's the unacceptable and dark face of our lost childhood)

In short, are you really a nihilist or are you doing it for the sake of "literature"?

A question: But do you really believe in the things you write? It only takes me a few questions to understand it. 1) Can you imagine the world before you were born or after your death? 2) Do you think you are the sky or a bird? (I just want to measure your solipsistic level to understand when you truly believe in what you say...)

Oh my gosh, what a mess (I was nice with the grade)!!! And where is the music? Anyway, joking aside (but not really) about these topics (which I love and find fascinating), I prefer to read stuff by other authors, like J.L. Borges, Barrow (he's a very meta physicist), etc. Much lighter....

Anyway, Tom (Traubert), I remember reading somewhere an interview with Tom (Waits) from the time of Mule Variations where he claimed to have many unreleased songs in the drawer that he would publish sooner or later. I guess these are them.

And what do you think of the stunning Never Let Go? Doesn't it remind you of the piano ballads from Mule Variations (it seems like a cross between Come Up to the House and Picture in a Frame)?

I don't know why but this last one could be an outtake from Rain Dogs.
