You are very skilled and knowledgeable. But that love of yours for striking phrases, violent, vibrating, that desire to evoke in the reader a morbid curiosity towards a discomfort that might be caused by unpleasant things does not please me at all. It’s true that there have been great artists who have made the aesthetic of the unpleasant their greatness. But these are unique cases, especially from different times. Most of this stuff is just plastic, perfectly suited to modern times.
