I hadn't been around here for a while. Thanks lurex and Qzerty.
PS to Qzerty. You were there that night not because you had nothing to do, actually I'm sorry for the disappointment... PS to lurex. No, I didn't hear it, but I'm going to do it.

The eschatological existentialism that permeates this album is not easy to grasp. Umberto Eco pointed this out in an article for La Stampa. Let's not forget that the album was released almost simultaneously with Il Nome della Rosa and can be seen as a "musical" version of it. Personally, I also consider the cover to be one of the beautiful representations of epistemological kineticism, of which Eco himself (along with Paul Hapstead) is one of the world's foremost exponents.

psychopompe, I completely agree with you. You perfectly pinpointed the difference between this album and Sacrifice. The strange and infinitely sweet yet subtly unsettling quality of "The Harald" hides something "primitive" and "ancestral" that I can't quite grasp but which disturbs me every time I listen to it. I too have experienced listening to this piece in the dark, and I can confirm the impressions mentioned above.

Ghemison, the music you usually review is rarely among my favorites, but the way you write always denotes great expertise, and I know that when I want to follow it, I will turn to your pages on Debaser.
