And how many things I still haven't said... His passion for bebop, or for Coltrane's harmonic experiments, when John would gurgle endlessly around a couple of chords. In this sense, the two are similar, meaning music that doesn't have a well-defined center. Then you realize that the infinite plurality of centers makes everything a center. And that’s when you feel the singing of angels. Another interesting thing about Reich: a diligent scholar of African percussion, during one of his trips there, he contracted malaria. Evidently, he translated part of that fever into music.

The amusing Saturday incursion, courageously letting himself be buried under an avalanche of insults. The discordant commentary adds liveliness and highlights those of approval/exaltation. As for me, every now and then I review and reread, cum magno gaudio.

Useless, limp, lacking in ideas. I must have said it 10,000 times already, but I can never resist the temptation to repeat it, forgive me.

I'm following Grass; I think it will be appreciated properly on the right as well.

In the meantime, I checked where Glen of the Downs is... then I'll hop in the gondola and let you know.

As for availability, this record was a gift to me, so I can't tell you. @ gabbox: true, So Percussion seems to be quite good, and they have also played Drumming. @ everyone: a heartfelt thanks for your attention and approval, I hope you get the record; I have no doubt that then you'll judge my enthusiasm well placed, Drumming sounds like few other things, I swear.

Oh my goodness, I'm glad you liked it so much. I shamefully neglected to mention that the version I reviewed is the one cited by odradek, from 1987. It lasts 56 minutes, instead of the 87 of the 1971 version. I don't know the original, and I find it hard to listen to it without detaching myself from this one. Critics and Reich himself have often agreed, however, on the greater impact of that "reduced" version.

Alright, I take the advice and I'll get organized.

Great album, I've got it framed on my nightstand. I'm not a fan of track to track, but this time I read it with a shiver of joy. The cover alone is worth the purchase. Moreover, he really seems like a handsome man, with that mischievous tuft...

Thank you very much, John. By the way, I also took the liberty of linking your shining page in my review of Steve Reich, which should be published very soon. I hope you won't take me to court...
