Then the musical value means nothing, the singer of the Jesus Lizard is musically terrible, yet he gives you chills. This album by RATM goes down like a cold lemon soda on a hot August day, without wondering if Morello is a guitar phenomenon or not.

What does it mean that RATM copied from Jesus Lizard? It's not Tom Morello's fault that Denison came before him, and after bowing a thousand times to the Lizard, I say that the immediacy of Rage's music seems phenomenal to me. The same goes for substituting Gilmour for Lizard.

I’m always amazed by these allusions to the Ratm’s bank account, or the validity or lack thereof of the protest action. This album entertained me a lot, period, without any nonsense about political commitment. If someone doesn't like the music, so be it, but the background of the musicians doesn’t matter at all; if Leonard Cohen had been a neo-Nazi, I would have loved him anyway.
