George Gershwin Gershwin's Greatest Hits
Voto:
Although the name of Gershwin is probably the most fitting for such an operation, I am somewhat horrified by the term "Greatest Hits." Decontextualizing pieces like these never seems like a great idea to me; however, given the tracks, there is no doubt that this record goes down as easily as Sprite on a hot August day.

You did very well to highlight the double meaning of the expression, as well as the sociological element. No society today is as in flux as the Eastern one, where opposing and multiple trends face off frantically, with unpredictable outcomes (architectural urgency, one of the themes of this film, is an example). All of this is rooted in a spiritual-sensual tradition that is absolutely foreign to us. For years, Eastern filmmakers have been narrating these evolutions here, and for this reason, I believe they make the best cinema. This, for example, is a good film, even though there are better ones.

Beautiful page, I was thinking who knows why you would have panned it! A poetic film, surreal, extremely captivating in many images, beautifully acted. Equipped with a strong claustrophobic element that can easily make it unbearable.

I don't know, maybe I'm just in a bad mood today, but I really didn't like the review at all. By the way, you claim that "The force be with you" was the motto of a generation and then you write "May the force WILL with you." Unforgivable. As for the movie, Star Wars is Star Wars, untouchable.

Mom, so many comments... I haven't seen the film but I've listened to the post-cinema discussions at the bar, and on that basis, I definitely agree with Poletti.
Stanley Kubrick Arancia Meccanica

A sad moment.

On the other hand, Galakordi, how many Eastern reviews have you read so far, in the gold rush that followed the opening of debaser at the movies? Let's say 5 percent.

Brick yes, if there's one, but maybe there's even worse (or better). I believe we should start talking seriously about Eastern cinema, taking a bit of space away from Spielberg, Muccino, Ozpetek, Salvatores, Von Trier, etc. How many people know that 2007 is the year of the new Wong Kar Wai?
Miles Davis Porgy And Bess
Voto:
Miles' aperitif version is a truly noteworthy definition. Not my favorite, but still Miles. I mean, just to say, when that trumpet kicks in, there’s no competition, even when he plays with Zucchero. The sound of Miles Davis' trumpet is a traveling monument, one of the true artistic signatures of our century. Porgy and Bess is one of those precious pieces to be kept in a showcase. Poletti, I reiterate that I inexplicably like you, but here I have to give you a failing grade without appeal.
Vasco Rossi Bollicine

Nice review for an album that certainly has its own dignity. Bollicine is a great track.
