Takeshi Kitano Hana - Bi (Fiori di Fuoco)

Finally, a brief, inspired review, with little captioning, of a great film. The hope is that this will be a path to follow. Two things: 1) The ending of the film is beautiful; I wonder how much it was inspired by the legendary final scene of Les Quatre Cents Coups by Truffaut. 2) The gunshot that ignites in the car, captured from above, in the snowy silence, is one of the most beautiful moments cinema has given me.

Great review, but I say that the 4 and 5 records are different.

However, the instructional reviews are different, certainly not this one.

Yes, I agree with you, the review must be evocative, meaning it should open the mind to other viewpoints, and it should inform only about what is not obvious; otherwise, I wouldn't even read them myself.

I have only seen Vampyr, spectacular.
David Lynch Eraserhead

Puni arrives late to the nonsense discussion: I actually liked Bunuel's review as an idea, precisely because it provided that split vision that suited the film well. Anyway, the idea of fakes is entertaining, as long as it doesn’t become bothersome, and fortunately, that’s not the case for you.
David Lynch Eraserhead

Immense and unreviewable, the most "noise" film in history. Or at least unreviewable by canonical methods. Like all truly genius works, the description, however refined, reveals very little of its greatness; it would be better to surrender to the nonsense, even when writing about it.
Luciano Salce Il Primo Tragico Fantozzi

I recommend to everyone reading a book about Fantozzi by Paolo Villaggio, whose title I can't recall (what kind of advice is that??). Anyway, it's hilarious.
Tim Burton Big Fish - Le Storie Di Una Vita Incredibile

It moved me as well. To play along with the rating game, I don't know if we’re at a 5, but this film is a tribute to imagination as the only means of survival, and Burton deserves great credit for that.
Luis Buñuel Il Fascino Discreto Della Borghesia

I really like these A and B format reviews, in theory. A thousand times in front of a record, book, or movie, I’ve had to manage two different emotions that couldn’t align. This film is a gem, but the first time I saw it I wasn't in sync with Luis, so I snubbed it; today I think I can give it its 5.
