Dominic Miller First Touch
Voto:
I am also an admirer of Dominic, although I don't consider him a classical guitarist in the strict sense of the term. His language is quite broad both on the electric and classical guitars, with a particular inclination for harmonizations, as Sting has also understood. The album was a nice discovery... I also recommend the soundtrack of Luc Besson's film "Leon".

Santana Santana

The multifaceted sound of the first Santana is indeed hard to synthesize, but you’ve done a good job.
What to add...that the genius drummer Shrieve was only 18 years old, that musically speaking, I see a lot of minor harmonica in Carlos's style (like "Black Magic Woman"), that his "sound" is inimitable, that he is one of the few leaders who values his supporting musicians, who have all become famous, that Rolie and the second live guitarist, Neal Schon (by the way, he was preferred to Clapton at the time) would be the future Journey.
Santana is always cool.

Without trained ears, it's pointless to discuss music.
And Boccherini will continue to seem like a curious erotic practice to you.... :))

Great review... funny enough, I was just thinking about writing it myself.
What can I say about the album? If one stops being an old-school Yes fan for a moment, they must admit that Rabin has really shaken things up, with all the pros and cons, but this sounds and composes as it should... "Owner of a Lonely Heart" remains one of the smartest tracks of recent years.
After that... let's go back to listening to "Close to the Edge," perhaps the version from "Yes-Symphonic Live," a wonderful DVD for Yes fans.

Can't explain the lack of audience for AOR in Italy...? Well, it's made for American radio that "plays" music, but radio here, as we know, is just commercial sludge, except for RAI3.

I hoped that it could redeem my distrust of the Italian music scene. I had heard some interesting singles and listened to the album. Yes, some lyrics are quite captivating, but the singing rhythm eventually kills it, and musically it feels like listening to the same song over and over. I don't know, maybe it's the producers who are stifling these people, but for now...
