Well, that Robben Ford is not only a great guitarist but one of the masters on the world stage perhaps should have been highlighted more clearly...one of the few who can be recognized from the very first note of a solo. Among the covers, there's also Ain't got nothing but the blues by Ellington, and I would also mention Ford's decent vocal abilities. Anyway, I prefer his blues discography "Robben Ford & the Blue Line," although I still maintain that his guitar performances with the Yellowjackets remain the most technically remarkable, albeit a tad unripe. Anyway, great choice.

Well, it’s not easy... more than a genre, they are two formidable personalities. I would suggest you listen to some classic Michael Franks, Mark & Almond, Donald Fagen; with the necessary differences, for instrumentals, try the Yellowjackets from the '80s. Enjoy listening :)

Long live there and adept... you really put on a show, and for free.

In person, they take anyone in their pocket... have you ever heard of Le Roi Soleil? It's a shame that the review focuses more on the lyrics than the music since it's a very well-played album. I love A LAND TO LIVE A LAND TO DIE, a very evocative piece: psychedelic echoed Hammond organ and a masterful solo by Nico Di Palo, kudos for the uniqueness of the choice nonetheless.

Well, as a knowledgeable fan of Lee, I’d say that perhaps your enthusiasm is a bit excessive; let me explain. In the 80s, I collected records by Lee, the co-creator, along with Larry Carlton, of Californian Fusion, as well as one of the most sought-after session musicians of that era. He is a highly skilled guitarist, a musician of taste, but fundamentally an instrumentalist, meaning he has modest compositional depth. It's no coincidence that his best performances are on other people's albums, like Dave Grusin's, etc. Honestly, I don't think he has much to do with prog, despite some instrumental suites. I don't consider the album in question a masterpiece, although the version of "Isn't She Lovely" is quite delightful; better yet, if you can find it, check out "Rio," which is very acoustic, or the electric "On the Line."

To define who Fossati is, it would be enough to read the lyrics of "La costruzione di un amore"... Fossati is sometimes unfathomable.

Sorry, but the idea doesn't even touch me in this chat context... follow my reviews, and maybe I'll end up doing one on Metheny. For now, just make do with "fosca," which you liked so much :)

You on the other hand find so much time for me... where's the mistake... :)

In my opinion, a great album is "Dave Grusin & N.Y. Dream Band," a live recording featuring the most famous tracks and stellar musicians like Lee Ritenour, Steve Gadd, and so on...
