Le Orme Florian

What to say about Le Orme (a complete double collection of their LPs, to be clear), the album in question surprised us so much, but after an initial disappointment due to its sound, it left its aesthetic and compositional mark and reaffirmed the substantial difference of the four compared to the prog scene: Le Orme have never been a cliché of a genre, even though they have traversed it, capturing its most original stimuli. PFm and Banco, for better or worse, have remained tied to a specific sound.

So, whether it's involution or evolution, Le Orme have continued to seek something, even touching the bottom with "Venerdì" and the album with Lavezzi, but never giving up the courage to change. I conclude with: Le Orme are great and set an example, even at 60 years old.

I endorse the praises for Germano Serafin, the most innovative musician of the group post-'75.

It's true, you know... well, forgive me for that; )

Well, don’t confuse the complexity of phrasing with a lack of control; if you take a fast Metheny phrase and play it slowly, the lyric immediately emerges, while to an untrained ear it escapes on the first listen. In short, there are guitarists who “run” and guitarists who “say,” and then there are a few who run and say... I don’t know if... :) Anyway, Holdsworth is always very consistent, so the average level of his work is high, but I prefer SECRETS for its more song-oriented approach and the old I.O.U... thanks for your attention and goodbye!

Well, to tell the truth and as Tony Pagliuca put it, the lyrics are also by Tagliapietra: I would say Pagliuca on the introspective and more delicate ones, Aldo on the more mystical and dreamlike ones.

Let me get this straight, all the rambling from the cold-hearted engineer to say that good old Todd isn't a musician?...are we kidding here?
This is a great musician, a great guitarist AND also a great sound engineer.
And not from a cybernetic heart...the fact that the album in question is dreadful is another matter.

Well, sorry but the reception starts off well but leaves us too soon... a bit meager like the creativity of this work by Toto. As for their detractors, let's say they are victims of a banal prejudice... too beautiful and rich to be true... a naivety :) Songs like Africa or Rosanna, in my humble opinion not even the best gems of the group, are now classics of AOR at a time when no one seems capable of writing a song anymore and survives on music videos and copycats. Compared to Toto, good composers, great musicians, and may they enjoy the money they make... they deserve it more than many others.

Well, we need to dive into the chaos... so I'll make a comment in line with the modern, concise style of the pop era of Genesis:
compositions: average, vocal performance: high-quality pop singer, arrangements: children of a lesser god, economic return: appreciable, nostalgia: plenty.
Just imagine if I had given you a neoclassical progressive comment... ;)

Well, it seems like you're almost apologizing for liking Toto... I'm not on board with that. I'm not their official defender, but there's a difference between not liking AOR and discussing who knows how to write and play music in a time where everyone lives off music videos and looks! I would say they are among the few who, while integrating a certain commerciality, have left behind songs that have become classics like "Africa" or "Rosanna," which are certainly not just four chords; Mr. Lukather is one of the most skilled guitarists in the world and a respected frontman. Sure, they dress well, but they know more rock than many with long hair and sloppy guitars that torture my ears. And if Mr. Davis has deemed them worthy of a collaboration, that must mean something...

Are you surprised by Steve Lukather???...one of the most accomplished guitarists on the planet?
Have you been stuck on "Africa"?

Well, it’s beyond doubt that Pino is a pioneer of Italian metal, it's equally undeniable that he is a free, sincere, and healthy voice on TV, and the arrogance of many comments definitely represents the mediocrity of this shitty Italy. ;)
We want Pino!
