The "metalheads who listen to Kiss make me diabolically shit," how are you "alternative" when you say these things, Sanjuro... It seems to me that the "alternatives" have always looked down on Kiss... maybe they listened to them and liked them, but in the public alternative square, where everyone wears thick-framed glasses, they always say: "Kiss? How disgusting... far less seminal than the XXX (add an obscure band that the shortsighted of the moment think is secretly fundamental)."

I had it on vinyl, then like an idiot I sold it. I remember it's a nice record, with a bit too much filler like all Kiss albums. Nice review, but watch your spelling, brother!

Thank you for the advice and compliments, Jettojet. One of the evolutions we will strive to pursue is indeed to give more emphasis to the technical passages arranged for bass and guitar, as well as some well-thought-out virtuosity. In fact, in this album, considering we wrote it in 2001, we somewhat confined ourselves to the power-epic sounds of the time (which we had been following long before), so it resulted in a product that - five years after the originally planned release date - might seem a bit dated for some listeners. @Marco: finding a drummer who can play this genre is really a hassle!!! We have long missed our very first drummer (Mat Stanciou), who now finally has a worthy replacement in Federico!!

In the first album, we collaborated with a really talented keyboardist, but it was a huge mess managing him, especially live (I don't know why, but keyboards tend to either be too quiet or get in the way). The only problem is that with the backing tracks, you're forced to play live with a metronome... What sounds do you generate?

p.s. The keyboardist is currently replaced by a Yamaha VS (a mixer and recorder that sends backing tracks), I must say we are getting along really well with the VS, it doesn’t take up any seats in the car, doesn’t make a mess, doesn’t burp, and doesn’t ask for a fifth of our (meager) fees ;-)

Thank you so much for your attention, Marco, and for the very technical feedback! Congratulations on "catching" the multi-guitar arrangements that drove us crazy during the mixing phase;-) Indeed, the genre is a bit saturated, but in our next album, we will try to evolve our sound a bit. Thanks also for the compliments on our technique; there are many bands that, with the help of technology, produce plastic records where there’s very little real playing (especially the drums). Instead, we have always played everything we record, and it’s nice when someone notices that :-)

Honestly, if I had to throw either Rage or Audioslave from the tower, I would toss down Audioslave, but this album is not bad at all. It’s produced by God, has some truly spectacular riffs (like "Show Me How to Live," for example), some really well-crafted vocal melodies, and vocal performances that are orgasmic. However, from a historical standpoint, it can't be compared to "Rage Against The Machine," which in my opinion is truly a seminal album of universal value. In any case, this album got me fired up and is a pleasure to listen to if you’re a lover of ROCK music! "Out of Exile," the second one, is instead a dud; it sounds like the leftovers from this one. The review wants to convey a shareable idea, but it remains a dud as well.

Jettojet, I don't know the Squier Affinity, but between the Highway and the Mexico, I think the Highway is preferable. As for the guitar, I really don't know what to suggest; you need to find one that "calls" to you and feels good in your hands! Choosing an instrument is a big mess, and in my opinion, you also need to rely a bit on your instinct (without getting screwed, of course ;-).
