If we make a somewhat far-fetched parallel with art, we could say that a Caravaggesque painter from the 17th century paints at a higher pictorial level than Andy Warhol, but we can’t easily say the same when we talk about their artistic value. I was referring to the twentieth century precisely for this reason, in the sense that—as you might know—in the last century, the claims of objectivism have fallen even in the exact sciences, let alone in art.

The parameters for judging musical genres are infinite and there is no way to create a hierarchical ranking of the musical value of various genres! What matters, in my opinion, is the expressiveness and talent of the individual artist, whatever genre they delve into.
