Quentin Tarantino Grindhouse - A prova di morte

@Cptgaio: your opinion is plausible, but I don't share it. I would say it's really a matter of tastes and points of view.

I am the first to not care about ratings, in fact, I almost never give them. But I at least expect an apparent consistency between the rating and the content of the review; in this case, it seemed to me that the rating did not reflect the judgment expressed in the review. Maybe it's because I see the 2 as a failing grade, and it seems indisputable to me that beyond all the (excellent) reasons given by HappyNatoli that prevent it from being called a masterpiece, this film, in its genre and also in light of Poletti's considerations, deserves at least a passing grade.

For heaven's sake, my comments will be clichéd and out of place, I don't doubt that. I still believe that it's much more clichéd and out of place to spend entire days (like our DaveJon/ArnoldLayne does) on reviews of bands that are deemed useless, shouting "shit!" left and right. I truly don't understand the point of this habit, which almost elevates itself to a lifestyle for our Arnold. What do you think, should we be enlightened? And if that were really the case, do you think this is the best way? The truth is that it’s not very difficult or commendable to label anything that comes across MTV or sells more than 3,000 copies, or was composed after 1976, as "shit." That's why I personally stopped doing it (yes, I used to do it, I admit) when I was about 15 or 16. Now I prefer to evaluate popular or successful music with less prejudice. This doesn't mean that I consider Negramaro (or Muse, or Verdena, to name a few bands I've found myself defending against a slew of 1s in the dark) to be great artists, but that doesn’t prevent me from acknowledging some merit. Then you are free to think as you wish, but if you took me for a simpleton with a brain lobotomized by MTV, I'm sorry to disappoint you, but you've got it all wrong.

The review is not bad, the judgment a bit too harsh. But I have given up, I can't understand Poletti's fluctuating standards of evaluation.

As often happens, GrwntNichols proves to be one of the most balanced commentators when it comes to successful rock-pop music. While much of the commentary from those who rated the album 1 could easily be bypassed due to its predictability and banality, and at times inaccuracies—since Negramaro are not a group that came to prominence with their first single, so the usual tale of the "manufactured band that aims to hit it big on the first try at the expense of thousands of (allegedly) talented bands doomed to the underground" is quite out of place (though it’s not like such groups don’t exist; for example, Finley fit that description). While I don’t particularly like them, I must admit that Negramaro have earned some merit; "Mentre tutto scorre" contained some good episodes, even if it was not free from flaws (e.g., excessive referencing, overly loaded and artificial arrangements). I don't know the new album, but the single seems a bit too much.

But then perhaps those who say that Kill Bill rides the wave of Pulp Fiction for commercial purposes forget that before Kill Bill, Tarantino made Jackie Brown, which certainly cannot be defined as a duplicate of Pulp Fiction or a work created to ride the commercial success.

Howard and the fate of the world!! Fantastic, what a forgotten work? That mythical duck was my idol when I was a kid. And Howard the Duck was one of the few films I could watch without falling asleep.

My Neapolitan friends will recite it from start to finish if you ask them. Anyway, it’s true that if you’re a Northerner (which I’m not), you might struggle to understand it; there’s no need to call hugoniot a fool.

You're too harsh, Hugoniot. If you didn't like anything, that's fine, but let's not be moralizers. To say that Tarantino makes films (he's made 5 in 16 years!) only for money and fame seems a bit much to me...

If it's possible to send reviews about the series, I'll book the first 4 seasons of NYPD Blue. Really nice reviews, the movie doesn't blow me away.
