Blind Guardian A Twist In The Myth

At this point, I would wrap up the chat with a sacred de gustibus caro lux. ;-)

Lux, I agree with you. For me, Imaginations is also the best album by Blind; I just said that it’s not the best produced. It’s also true that often "rough" productions benefit albums (I’m thinking of Iron Maiden (the album) or Black Sabbath (the album)), but in my opinion, that’s not the case with Imaginations (just like it’s not the case with Killing is my business by Megadeth, for example). Better sounds (especially for the drums and bass) would have made it even better.

Maybe we don't mean the same thing by production. By production, I don't mean the quality of the instrumental parts of the choruses or melodies, but simply the quality of the recording and the sounds. From this point of view, Imaginations is a bit behind for me. If they had had the same resources they had for ANATO or NITME when they recorded Imaginations, we would still be jamming out. (Anyway, even for Imaginations, it's among the best albums in ALL of Metal.)

It's true that Imaginations contained unforgettable melodies... however, the production of that album is not at all on par with the following two, Nightfall and A Night have amazing productions, far superior to all the previous ones. Then the artistic aspect is open to discussion...

The more I read around, the more curious I become... during my lunch break, I'm going to Mariposa to grab a copy. Then there's the concert coming up soon; it can't be sold out already, can it?!

I also believe that "A ght at The Opera" is a very valid work. The tracks may not be instant classics like the pieces from Immaginations or some tracks from Nightfall, but the songwriting and arrangements are truly at levels of refinement that are practically unique in the power genre. I do share with Bartleboom the nostalgia for the times when having "tales from the twilight hall" or listening to and playing "power" meant being "too ahead"...

I would give you a 1 just because you go to school and I’ve been at work since August 27. Damn, I miss life as a high school student (not to mention university life)... Ah, rece a bit of a pain in the ass but nice.

It's a pity, I had sensed that Blind were choosing a difficult path for themselves since the single "Fly"... and you confirm it for me. Anyway, I will listen...

Please Jack, never change. Your reviews are too powerful in their comic naivety. It’s right that there are also this kind of reviews on this site and not just those of failed music critics.

Great! A worthy review for our friends and label mates Adramelch! I only have Broken History, which I consider extremely valid... We played together in Genoa and it was a pleasure to chat with someone who knows how metal can be a refined art, far from the stereotypes that are often attached to metalheads! Rock on Melibeo.
