I see Fire and Ice, I really like it from a guitar perspective (Perpetual, Dragonfly, Cry No More, Leviathan...) but from a compositional standpoint, I find it a bit cloying! Anyway, yes, it's a great ballad.

Well, look, you're off track because those compositions you mentioned aren't touched even by mistake! At most, in the introduction of far beyond the sun, you hear an excerpt from the allegro maestoso of Paganini's concerto no. 4 and the adagio by Albinoni... but that's 4 minutes out of 2 hours of concert...

Generally speaking, those who take issue with Malmsteen in this way do so after a rather superficial listening. This album is a great starting point for listening to him seriously.
